Early last year, after hearing about a mentor's practice of intentional spiritual gardening, I was inspired to create a four quadrant, square foot garden. Having decided on a design and what to plant, visuals began to emerge. It was a very empowering exercise, an injection of hope and possibility into a space of raw uncertainty.
In the top-left corner, I planted patience: with myself, with grief, in cultivating my new life.
On the top-right: Accruing Autonomy with sordid seeds of self love, Forgoing doubt, and welcoming love.
In the bottom-left corner, I sowed seeds of ministry, coaching, artistry, and philanthropy.
Finally, I bordered each quadrant and the garden’s periphery in an energetic fence of assurance. Fast forward several months, the garden visual emerged and offered itself. Who knew that all this time, those seeds had been sprouting, growing, blooming?! I did not forget
about the lower right quadrant. In that area, I wanted to hold space for expansion so I planted possibility and potentiality. In planting these seeds of hope and possibility, I was planting myself and grew into more of myself.
